There are also a few exciting new names: De Scheveningse Oesterbar, Meat on a Stick, Saigon Streetfood, Frozen Sweets and Wan Tsam Dim Sum opened up their first permanent restaurant here in Scheveningen. History
Before the Second World War, the Strandhotel’s building consisted of two large holiday villas. After the war, the two villas were merged and converted into the Strandhotel. The complexity of the stairs and walls still betrays the fact that the building once consisted of two different buildings. Many original details of the villas can still be seen in the hotel.
Since 1980 a lot has happened in the building. All hotel rooms are now equipped with private bathroom facilities, and a reception desk has been built. Every day we work on the maintenance of the building, a big job given the size and location (by the sea). From 2011, the Strandhotel is co-run by the second generation. The third generation cant wait to start helping with the business.
The rooms
There are multiple rooms to book at Strandhotel Scheveningen: Seasight room, Standard room, Budget room, Single room & Family room. Each room is unique with a different size and lay-out due to the history of the building. All rooms feature free WiFi, LCD television, a desk, a comfortable chair, shower cubicle with shower gel and shampoo. Heel fijne parkeergarage, bijna óp het strand en de garage 'Boulevard' doet z'n naam eer aan. Zodra je de garage uitstapt sta je idd. op de boulevard. We gaan graag op een zomerse (of winterse) middag naar Scheveningen en ik heb hier nog nooit verlegen gezeten om een parkeerplek. Bovendien kun je ook nog eens vlak bij de uitgang naar de boulevard je auto aan de laadpaal hangen.
Heel veel beter wordt het eigenlijk niet 🙂
